Vivienne Westwood
Published on March 4th, 2010.
Dame Vivienne Westwood was born in 1941 in Derbyshire, England.
Westwood is best known for her huge influence on the British punk scene. The Sex Pistols wore clothes from Vivienne Westwoods shop at their first gig.
The ‘Punk Style’ is very unique. It includes elements such as safety pins, razor blades, spiked dog collars on jewellery as well as outrageous make-up and hair. Scottish tartan fabric is also widely used.
Her designs are fantastic and unusual, below is a video of her 2010 collection which shows her quirky yet feminine style.

Thierry Mugler Corset Dress
Published on January 17th, 2010.
Below is a video of one of my favorite corset designs. The corset dress is designed by Thierry Mugler.
Many of Thierrys most couture designs had wide, padded shoulders and wasp-like waists. Collars had exaggerated points or flamelike cutouts. The insect kingdom was a constant influence, as were the people of film noir. In his most extreme runway garments, PVC was often used, as were space and robot themes.

Fashion in the 1920′s
Published on November 22nd, 2009.
I love this video of the 1920′s, it shows how much fashion and attitudes changed after the first World War.
This video looks back at women in the 1920′s. It’s hard to believe that the fun, spirited era was only 20 years after the harsh, serious Victorian period.
Check out the fantastic dancing.
